MARC IVAN MONTANDON

Marc Montandon is the Legal Practitioner Director of Janssen + Maluga Legal in Perth and is highly specialised in commercial law. Marc has extensive experience in servicing the mining, manufacturing, industrial services and technology sectors locally and internationally.

Marc has held senior in-house roles with medium and large business, including ASX listed companies (Orica, Sundance Resources, SGS, Nestle), intervening on a broad range of contract, commercial transactions, M&A, procurement, regulatory compliance and governance matters in Australia and abroad, including various African countries, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Middle-East and Papua New Guinea.

Previously, Marc has worked as a lawyer in top-tier firms in the state of Western Australia as well as internationally.


Recent experience includes:

Legal management services to Australian listed multinational Orica, supporting the company’s expanding businesses in Africa (10 countries) on all legal aspects of its operations, drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts and interaction with government authorities.

4 years as General Counsel of ASX listed company Sundance Resources Limited (Perth), developing a port, mine and rail infrastructure project. Successful development and drafting of key project documentation, contracts (including EPC and EPCM), policies and procedures underpinning the project, leading a small in-house team. ASX and ASIC compliance.

7 years as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary for the Australasian subsidiary of multinational SGS, building up the legal function in Australia to best practice.

Marc holds legal qualifications in Australia, the United Kingdom and Switzerland (Geneva) where he completed his law degree and bar examination. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Marc is a Board Member of Lisle Villages, Perth, a community organisation operating retirement villages.

Since August 2016, Marc Ivan Montandon is the Honorary Consul of Switzerland for the state of Western Australia.
